Flowers Flowers and More Flowers

I have been working on my crocheted flowers for several days now. I haven't made these in years and decided it was time to make some more. There are several colors and I will be listing them on my etsy soon. I just love crocheting things while watching a movie or something on tv I find it very relaxing. I try to make the kids a blanket every couple of years and have been reminded by both that its time again LOL. I still have the one my grandma made me when I was a little girl, it holds wonderful memories for me. I was very young when my grandmother showed me how to crochet and then when I was a teenager my mom helped me long more. It use to be a thing that was passed down through the generations but now a days less people know how or even want to learn sadly even my own daughter shows no interest in learning how. I encourage everyone to give it a try there are so many resources out there to help you learn if you don't have someone to teach you. The Internet and YouTube are full of instruction.

Card Challenge

Hello everyone, I came across this blog the other day. Christmas Stampin' All Year Long and just love the idea of having a challenge once a week to do a Christmas card so that I will have them all done and ready to go when Christmas sneaks up on me. So this was my first week to play, I was inspired to use the spinning card that the wonder Momo did a video on and got right to it this morning.

Here it is, I used bazzil card stock and the Hero Arts stamp set Owl Christmas. I used the copic colors E 31 33 G 2 R 29 Y 4 YG 3 YR 65 to color the owls in. I hope you all check out the blog and momo's channel for their great ideas.

Cork Board Necklace Holder

Miranda has so many necklaces now that it is getting really hard to store them she is wanting one of those large stand up jewelry boxes like I have but right now that isn't possible, plus she likes to be able to see them out so that she can choose what she wants quickly. So this is what I came up with for her.

What I uses is two packages of 4 pieces of 6x6 cork board, they are kind of thin so I glued two pieces together so that the push pins didn't stick out to much in the back, which made me end up with 4 boards, a package of fun colored super large push pins, and four bright paint colors. I painted each one a different fun color and then added the push pins in two staggered rows that way the necklaces don't hang on top of each other, the push pins stick out just a bit in the back but this is nice because they stick a just a little into the wall for some extra hold. It really helped when we were trying to figure out the placement they just stayed where we put them, then we used foam tape to put them up on her wall to make sure that they could handle the weight of all her stuff. We are loving the way they came out so much that I think I am going to make one for my bathroom for the necklaces that I tend to wear more often.

Thanks for stopping by and come back soon.
